What makes Google what it is now?
People want information. They search it and find it.
It is this search and find that has made Google and other do great.
However it is not the information itself that they are providing, but the guide, the way - the link.
What if they could provide the information itself. This may sound like monopolising...
"I want to know the story of Mr. Obama. I search, find a link and get redirected there."
Well, I can see a bright future for sites like Wikipedia.com. They search and give the information itself instead of passing over to somewhere, though they don't handle "anything" like Google or Bing do.
